Mending
A natural organic element suggests a human-vegetal-animal world. The needle and thread represent an idea of a surgical operation: wounded lives, threatened ecosystems, extinctions... a mending is necessary. The action is a single continuous gesture which attempts a solution. The stitches bind cuts, and at the same time they stress injuries such as permanent signs.

In this performance I was sitting on the floor sewing torn oranges. I presented "Mending" (a video work I realized in 2002) for the first time as a live performance at the Teatro Espace in Turin.A natural organic element suggests a human-vegetal-animal world.
