A blanket of leaves sewn together, of various types, shapes and colors, covers a small ruin, until confuse and camouflage itself with nature that contains it. This installation was created during an artist residency in a very green place in central Italy and awarded at Terna Priza 04 in Rome. The texture and chromatism of this natural ‘fabric’ change with the passage of time, the colors change as the density becomes harder and drier, to form a sort of membrane-fabric that vaguely resembles a tanned and sewn animal skin. The concept of transformation and impermanence, the flow of time, precariousness and sense of cyclicity are the basis of this work, which declines in the dialogue between natural enviroment and architectural place.
Un manto di foglie cucite, di varia tipologia, forma e colore, riveste un piccolo rudere, fino a mimetizzarsi con la natura che l’accoglie. Questa installazione è un progetto realizzato durante una residenza artistica in una località molto verde del centro Italia, e vincitrice al Premio Terna 04 a Roma. La consistenza e il cromatismo di questo ‘tessuto’ naturale muta con il passare del tempo, i colori cambiano, così come la densità che, man mano, diventa più dura e secca, fino a costituire una sorta di membrana-tessuto che vagamente ricorda una pelle animale conciata e cucita. Il concetto di trasformazione e impermanenza, il fluire del tempo, la precarietà e il senso di ciclicità sono alla base di questo lavoro, che si declina nel dialogo tra luogo naturale e spazio architettonico.
