Performance / Installations – 2021

Attraverso (Through) is a work that unfolds through a series of performances in which I engage members of the audience. It takes place inside an 18th-century Italian villa, specifically in the basement that was occupied by the Germans during the Second World War and turned into a prison. The villa is located in an ancient village once conceived as a sort of Renaissance-era “ideal city,” and is now home to a small, diverse community. It’s a place steeped in history, which inspired me to create a project that unfolds as a sort of experiential journey through three connecting rooms. In the first room, initially empty, the performance takes place, where I perform various actions, including drawing a circle and pulling objects from my pockets and dropping them on the floor. I gradually involve one person at a time, who rolls the dice inside the circle with me, and I write the resulting number on their hand. Each person then proceeds individually to the next room, where they sit and listen to a sound installation with headphones. Finally, he reaches the last room where he observes a small drawing representing the glyph of the asteroid Chiron. This work is linked to myth, archetypes, luck, trials, and self-care, as well as the possibility of entrusting art with a cathartic function.
