Rebus

Rebus is an installation created with various natural elements, edible and not, layed on a white cloth placed over a table a bit higher than normal. The classical composition, the variety of colors and the drapery remember us the history of art, the genre of “natura morta” (still life). When approaching it turns out that these vegetable and fruits are not exactly as we know them: from apples come out carrots, oranges seem to create pods of green beans, potatoes sprout thorns of rose, … All is not immediately identifiable, a crazy nature captures with the beauty of her strangeness dragging us into an unreal and disquieting world at the same time.
 

Rebus è un’installazione creata con vari elementi vegetali, di natura commestibile e non, disposti su un panno bianco posto sopra un tavolo un po’ più alto del normale. La composizione è classica, la varietà dei colori e il panneggio ci riporta alla storia dell’arte, quella del genere della natura morta. Nell’avvicinarsi si scopre che questi elementi vegetali non sono propriamente come siamo abituati a vederli: dalle mele escono carote, arance sembrano generare bacelli di fagiolini, dalle patate spuntano spine di rosa,… Non tutto è immediatamente riconoscibile, una natura impazzita ci cattura con la bellezza della sua “stranezze trascinandoci in un mondo irreale e inquietante allo stesso tempo.
